If things at The Fair Co. seem to just work, there’s a very good chance Leigh is somewhere behind the scenes making that happen. As Head of Digital, Innovation & Marketing, he’s the calm operator keeping our systems, platforms, tools and processes on track.
So, what does Leigh actually do? A bit of everything, really. His days move between executing our marketing strategy, working closely with IT and digital partners, and spending plenty of time deep in the data, turning numbers into smarter ways of working. There’s a lot of analysing, refining and optimising that goes into making sure our message lands where it should and the work we do gets seen by the people who need us most. It’s all about keeping the engine running and pointing us in the right direction.
Leigh’s path into The Fair Co. came from a genuine desire to help people, which explains why he ended up in the for‑purpose space. Supporting businesses to do social, responsible, and sustainable procurement properly is work that feels meaningful. The Fair Co. turned out to be a great fit, and a place where Leigh could bring innovative ideas to life in ways that make a difference.
Since joining, Leigh is particularly proud of helping shape the culture of our team and the clients we work with. He’s also had a front‑row seat to one of the most significant chapters in our story, being part of The Fair Co.’s journey from a government‑funded organisation to an independent, for‑purpose business. It’s been a big shift, and one he’s enjoyed contributing along the way.
When it comes to inspiration, Leigh looks to leaders who walk the walk. The ones who show accountability and consistently back up their words with action. He’ll also admit that good food and coffee play an influential role in keeping ideas flowing and decisions sharp.
Leigh isn’t usually front and centre and that suits him just fine. If The Fair Co. were a band, he’d be the manager – quietly keeping everything running smoothly and staying well out of the spotlight.
And finally, his weirdest claim to fame. During the lunch break of a Boxing Day Test match, Leigh once won a sprint on the MCG.
